CIT Group...aren't they insolvent?
Haha I think they filed for Chapter 11 so they can reorganize. Still around for now. I think background checks are usually to verify the info on your application, like education and employment history, prior criminal record, etc. As far as I know they're not too much more in depth than that. As long as you didn't lie on the application you should be fine.
