They're middle tier for tech, although they did play the main part for the VMware IPO last August. GS/MS/CS are the top WC tech banks, though MS is a sweatshop and Menlo is no fun. SF is a lot better to work in, much more to do.

 

Have a buddy at the Palo Alto office. Would put group up with CS, post-Quattrone CS isn't what it used to be. My friend really likes the culture, hours.

Not sure about SF.

 

East coast tech = no fun. Worse hours, less deal coverage, less interesting clients. If you want to do tech banking, take a gig out in SF/Palo/Menlo
