Consultants should be vulnerable to clients? What?

Is it true that client's actually want people that are truly honest to them? Somehow I doubt this; however, Patrick Lencioni that guy that writes in the WSJ and Businessweek always says that they want to see you as vulnerable instead of the other way around...

It just seems rather counterintuitive to think that...
