Credit Cards and Balance Transfers
So supposedly there are credit cards out there that don't charge a transaction fee for balance transfers.
Does any know about any credit cards that offer 0% balance transfer APR and either a free or low balance transfer fee? I found a few that do 0% BT APR but they have decently-sized transfer fees. Assume excellent credit.
Thanks for the help, guys.
don't think i've ever seen any without transfer fees, but if someone finds one i'd be happy to know as well...
I think balance transfer fees are pretty common at 3-5% of the transfer with no cap on the fees. I haven't seen any cards with no fee and 0%.
A few years back you could get offers for no charge balance transfers...or many really low charges, but those days seem to have passed us by.
Regards
Yeah, I just spent the day calling around... the lowest you can get is 3% transfer fee =(

no fee if you do BT with application or by april 10th. like others said, these cards are few and far between in this banking regulatory and interest rate environment.
Is it bad if you apply for 3-4 credit cards in a 2 month period? Assume I've gotten approved for all the ones I've applied for already.
do you have any idea what your FICO credit score is? how long is your credit history (how long have you had CCs or loans) and what sort of limits do you have on your current cards.
how many cards have you applied for in the last year and the last 2 years? when you apply for a CC the application stays on your credit report for 2 years. if you've applied for several cards, it's bad for your score and issuers will be wary of giving you another card (the apps go away completely after 2 years, though). 3-4 probably isn't horrible...i've heard of people doing like 10...
you can check your FICO score for free from one of the three credit reporting companies at www.creditkarma.com
Haha, thanks for the help man. I have a stellar FICO score, and the only thing I would even think about worry about is if I had too many outstanding credit cards.
