Dilemma: MSc at LSE vs MSc at Edinburgh vs Take Year Out
Hi.
I'm looking for some inputs and would appreciate advice. I'm looking to get into banking (not M&A, but more capital markets like lev fin or DCM) or Asset Management. I have a 1st class from a UK target in Mathematics for my undergrad. I interned in advisory at a UK bank (HSBC/RBS/Barclays) summer 2013. I am currently interning in DCM at one of the names mentioned above.
I have 2 MSc offers for sept 2014 start:
LSE Risk and Finance
Edinburgh Finance and Investment
So do I take the masters or do I hope to get an offer from my current internship and take a year out/go travelling/off cycle? (I have to take a £10k loan for the masters)
Any input would be great.
The best offer you managed to get with a First was for Risk and Finance? Your personal statement must have been terrible.
IF you decide to do a Masters, go with LSE for sure. Much more placement in London IB than Edinburgh.
Lse and then network like crazy.
