assume that you have two applicants who are qualified.
One lives in Minnesota and the other lives in Chicago. If the firm is located in Chicago, will the applicant who is currently living and working in the Chicago area have any edge when landing an interview? I always thought that the bar gets lowers just a wee bit for local candidates.





Yes and no. Like if both
Yes and no. Like if both candidates are identical then the candidate where you are gets the edge. This applies more to firms that are located in non-financial centers, where attracting and retaining talent is more difficult than say, NYC.
