economic consulting Compass Lexecon

Can anyone shed some light as to what kind of role does and entry level analyst have at EC firms like Compass Lexecon? Base pay/bonus and exit opps? Is B school the only option or have people been able to lateral to Ibanking?
Thanks in advance!

I'm not as familiar with Compass Lexecon, although I know I've worked against them several times. Pretty broad finance skillset - applicable to a lot, but yes, most people end up going back to b-school after a few years. Some will leave for hedge funds, or corp. roles, but i haven't seen many go to IB without doing MBA first. It will set you up nicely for b-school - a ton of EC folks at top b-schools (esp relative to the size of the industry).

Fresh out of UG, base will probably be ~$50-60, bonus ~$10 (some boutiques will pay a lot more). Hours are really cyclical and unpredictable. Busy weeks you'll be billing 80-100 hrs (maybe one week a month), but you'll get a lot of 40-50 hr weeks too. Average is probably around 50/55 for a junior person.
