Engineering Undergraduate Student looking for internship.

Hi! I've been reading WallStreetOasis.com for a lot of time and today I decided to start a discussion since I need some information, which I hope you could give me.

As the title says, I am studying "Management Engineering" in the top Italian university (for engineering). In particular I'm currently enrolled in the 2nd year of my bachelor's degree, so I'm an undergraduate student.

I would like to know if, according to you, students in their 2nd year may have a possibility to do an internship in banking/finance. Since I still am in the 2nd year are there any chances to get an internship or will company look for students in their last year of studies?

PS: I perfectly know that all the biggest banks have already closed their recruiting programs for summer positions and, indeed, I was thinking to contact some Italian small firms (boutiques).
