Entry-level in Tokyo
I was wondering if anyone knew whether it is realistic to be hired at a BB and work in Tokyo as an analyst.
I would be going in with fluent/literate Japanese so language would be TOO big of an issue, however I'm not a native speaker.
If this is not realistic, are there other sectors in finance (i.e. trading/sales, research, etc.) where a post in Japan after college could happen? Thanks for the advice.
i know that ms and JPM recruited at my school for analyst positions in japan+asia.
What school is that?
Look into the Japanese banks and try to arrange interviews with them. The transferability of the BB name, however, will probably be better if you intend to come back to the U.S., however I cannot verify this.
Georgetown. I asked around and I didn't realize it but there are people that I know who are headed to Asia (HK, Shanghai, Tokyo) as well with DB, GS and Citi.
As far as japanese banks though I'd check out Mizuho, BOT Mitsubishi and Nomura
I thinik DB is currently recruiting for positions for summer internships, and full time spots for tokyo.
is japanese an absolute requirement to work in tokyo? or does the office run in english?
shinsei bank recruits at top undergrad schools in the states as well (harvard, duke, etc..)
