Fifth Third Bank IB Info
Just curious how 5/3 Bank fits into the IB realm. Obviously it's not big, but curious what type of experience you gain relative to BB. Anyone have experience there? Hours, pay, all the usual stuff. Thanks!

+1, also curious to see what the rest of the board thinks
EDIT: also, BUMP
bump
Looks like they bought a LMM boutique last year to handle M&A: https://www.53.com/mkg/press-releases/press-release-2014-04-29.html Doesn't look like a huge group, but their head of M&A was an MD at JP for like 15 years so probably a solid guy to work for.
I would assume experience, pay, exit ops are similar to a no-name boutique, only "who are they?" will now be "had no idea they had a capital markets group." I don't know man, why don't you reach out to someone that works there. In the time it took you to make a second profile to bump your thread you could've found an analyst on linkedin, found his email and asked to setup a phone call.
I don't have any experience with 53, but it is generally difficult for a retail bank to escape the retail stigma. It's tough to go from being known for retail services to providing corporate advisory services. If you have other options, I would look at them, but if 53 is your only offer, obviously take it. You might enjoy it, and if not, lateraling after a year of working there will be doable.
Thanks for the responses, and trader timmy, I have no problem bumping my own thread so that first one wasn't me

Fifth Third Bank Fin./Acc. Leadership Rotational Program (Originally Posted: 09/18/2014)
I was just wondering if anyone had any insight. In the description it says rotations through Cincinnati/Chicago/Charlotte.
Difficulty/competition? Recognition? Worthwhile?
I used to be an intern in the IA division.
Although my experience wasnt the greatest, things i know about the program:
-There are 4 rotaitonal programs, Corp (you), IA, comercial banking, and IT... there is an iron curtain between the divisions. -you do not get to choose your "hub" city although none are really that bad, yes, even cincinnati. -difficulty/competition i would characterize as very light -hours are normal but this company is the definition of cube life -recognition --good as far as midwestern regionals go, but if you are looking to make the leap to IB its not the best bet
Comp = ~50k + 5
I inverviewed for the IA rotational program but wasnt extended an offer. They got the sense that I was only interested in a few of the roational areas and was dead set on them. This was for the best as I am now working at a job I love. If you are open to the idea of "rotating" go for it, you can always turn down an offer.
Broseph,
Can you speak to the CAP program at 5/3 at all? I have an offer there and they talk about how we can rotate through IB/Syndications/DCM etc.. so it sounds interesting but I also have offers at Corporate Banking @ some larger banks (better brand?). However, Corporate Banking is pretty different to Capital Markets groups/IB. Appreciate any advice you can offer.
