Kid I know is taking the test for a winter externship.
Are you timed on the Certification Case Study quizzes?
i.e., can he just skip all of the crap preceeding them-- thus immediately starting on the important tests-- and look up any answers if he gets stuck?
I understand some of the tests can't be retaken.
thx.

no
you have to do all of it. You do NOT have to read through all tutorials, but to get the certification you have to complete all the section ending quizzes above 80% (not sure about the cutoff) and send in a final copy of your model for evaluation. the final model you actually must build and send in to them, so there is really no way around this. i wouldn't recommend grabbing a completed version off someone else, I'm sure they could figure a way to check that.
There are 3 hurdles, right
Thanks Fargus.
If I understand this right, there are 3 types of hurdles.
(1) Knowledge base tests (w/ that 80% requirement)
(2) Certification Case Study Quizzes
(3) the excel model
My question was about the "Certification Case Study Quizzes." they can't be retaken...
do you know how they are set up? are they based on the model / are they timed?
they must have changed it
when I took it, you could retake the quizzes as many times as you wanted, and were told which were incorrect, so you could actually just keep guessing and seeing which you got right/wrong and retake until you got them all correct without ever reading anything. there wasn't a timed portion. that must be new to get around this. When I took it, you were supposed to do the certification questions based on the final model you produced, and could keep retaking it until you got it all correct. it was set up so if you got these questions all correct you knew your model flowed correctly and would pass certification. again, if it's not like this they have probably changed the format since last summer.
