Getting a prop trading job at a place like DRW....
It seems like a lot of the people that get hired at DRW and other well-regarded prop groups have programming skills. How likely is it to get hired at DRW if you are good with numbers, but have no programming background? Also, another thing I've noticed about DRW is that they stress on their website that you don't need a trading/finance background to interview. Can it work against you if you've previously worked in the field (specifically Asset Management, so not really trading)? Maybe they think you'll have picked up bad habits?
The junior traders they hire out of undergrad don't need programming skills, although it certainly does not hurt. The interview questions will have brain teasers and math questions, so you definitely should be comfortable with numbers.
And of course, they hire programmers, developers, and quants, who all need to have really strong programming skills.
