Give your feedback: WSO Weekly Wrap Up Newsletter

Hey monkeys, so each Friday I prepare the weekly wrap up of the top ~10 hottest discussions / blog posts of the week, also includes upcoming events, and the job of the week. Then it gets sent out at 2PM to our mailing list.

Any feedback you can provide for how I can improve it? Major changes aren't really actionable right now, but minor tweaks can definitely be made.

See last week's wrap up here: "Exclusive: Real IB Intern Diary Just Released"

Thanks!

I don't usually check it out because I see all the threads I need to during the week. That said, I can see how it would be a useful resource for some people. The link you gave didn't work btw, can you shoot me one via email and I'll take a look? PMing you my email addy

Ah it just loaded, never mind. The biggest thing that stands out to me here is that it pretty much links to the page with no description. Maybe a couple of sentences for each link as to why you think it's important? Also, maybe split it up by job function instead of just listing the numbers? So if there are links for IB, PE, Getting a Job, and S&T, organize them that way. And, of course, blog posts should be included in this.

Also, maybe at the top a "Featured Product or Service" with a blurb about it every week and/or a "message to WSO users" filling them in on what's going on with WSO.

PS- I have a WSO t-shirt already, thanks for the offer though!

thanks for the feedback

  1. i'll look at adding more of a description to top ~6 posts, though not sure if ppl really read that, they see a headline they like and click, if headline doesnt say what they're not interested in, they move on

  2. organizing based on industry... i try to rank them by level of interest on the site (views / comments), much easier to do and yes blog posts are included in the mix

  3. on the link i sent you it didnt show but we do have sponsors below the last topic

  4. message to wso users.... yeah for special occasions maybe, like "thank you to all those who attended the conference" or "wsomentors is back" - though we try to include these type of announcements into the standard 11 so they fit in better, things outside that list get considerably less clicks
