Well, I've been down on my luck lately, I got turned down for a Fund of Funds Analyst role and I'm waiting to see if I can get into Santa Clara University for an MSF. I figured doing something good will turn things around. And up to this point, I've been exceptionally greedy in regards to my resources of contacts. I found the holy grail of contacts for HF's (California) a while ago. I've also experienced that the response rate is much higher as well.
