Go to Grad School?!?!
I am in the process of deciding whether to go to grad school or not. is there any where one could read more about the pro and cons of different grad school in the US and Canada?
Master of Finance Vs MBA? What are the exit opps?
If you're looking for master in finance programs, I'd definitely recommend msfhq.com
Just to give you a good start try starting here : http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/to-anyone-considering-an-mba (CompBanker made a great post about it) http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/blog/is-an-mba-worth-it (lots of discussion) http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/is-an-mba-worth-it-0 (cites a WSJ article, with lots of input from solid users)
There are tons and tons more. Searching is your friend.
What is your profile? If you have less than 3 years experience you should be looking at an MSF. Are you working? Judging by your profile you might want to look at U Houston and UT Austin for MSF programs.
Have you tried breaking in without going to grad school? Might be an easier option.
On an unrelated note.. Does it make sense for a HYP grad to go into an MFin program immediately out of school, or would an MBA make more sense?
if you're an HYP grad..... 2 year IB--> 2 year PE--> HBS ---> ? ---> Profit
if your HYP im not sure why you would want to water down your brand for a MSF, and an MBA isnt possible without work experience. Pretty sure you have better options..you go to...HYP. Take it from somebody going into a top MSF, I would love to be in your situation.
MSF is better for getting your foot in the door, and MBA is better for taking you from analyst or associate to manager. Also, MBA programs usually have a work experience requirement.
