Withdrawing application and reapplying?
So, I made a silly and stupid mistake on one of my online application forms (the supplement to OCR). I decided to withdraw my application and reapply with a different email address. The reason being that I applied to two locations and the firm only lets you do 3 applications in total (withdrawals use up an application).
Do you think they will catch it given that it is so early in the SA recruiting process and that the applications are pretty much the same (very minor change, not to CV or cover letter - just one of the "Yes/No" responses to questions)? Was this a bad move?
They will because they will have your resume for both applications.
I withdrew both my applications with my original one and then reapplied to both with the new account. Doesn't that mean that they won't see my applications from the first account at all?
depends, if its MS they will know for sure... some other banks as well... unless you changed your name, address, phone, etc.
Withdraw and Reapply or Leave With No Cover Letter (Originally Posted: 09/16/2016)
Someone Who Isn't Me just applied for a SA position at a bulge, but for some reason, the cover letter file didn't upload correctly and isn't listed on my application. Is it better to withdraw my application and reapply with a different account, or just leave it with no cover letter? I have heard that having your name in the system twice is grounds for dismissal, but I am wondering if it even enters the pool if it is withdrawn.
Thanks - life is hard sometimes.
"Someone Who Isn't Me"
"My application" Hmmm.
It was intended as a joke.
where did you hear that having your name in the system twice is grounds for dismissal?
Withdraw and apply for another position with a new account? (Originally Posted: 12/07/2017)
I applied for the intern position at BB in Asia and I withdrew it after I missed the deadline for the online assessment test.
There is another position for which the deadline is not ended. Since the maximum number of application in Asia region is 1, I can't apply for that position with the existing account.
Is it okay to apply for that position with a new account?
How quickly do you think you could get a legal name change processed?
I am not sure what is a legal name change. Do you mean could I change the name on the application?
I changed the name and e-mail address of the existing account. But since I submitted and withdrew the application, I can't change those on the application.
Don’t see why not. Worst case they reject you for it later. And if they get angry you could just argue that you forgot you already had an account.
Thanks. I agree that if I do not apply, there is no opportunity at all. But I am concerned that if they find it out, it could affect the full-time job application for the next year?
Withdraw an application (Originally Posted: 09/30/2017)
I already applied to 3 internship opportunities in JP Morgan and just found an internship that would be a better fit for me. Do you think it's fine to withdraw my application and submit a new one for the new position?
Hi IBDaspirations, any of these discussions helpful:
More suggestions...
You're welcome.

Does anyone know how to withdraw an application from a BB firm? I've emailed the recruiters with firms I've already interviewed with, but dont know how to notify the firms I haven't heard anything back from yet. i've looked on the corporate website but there aren't any phone numbers/email addresses, nothing. Any ideas?
why do you want to withdraw your application?
I got an offer from SEO and if I get rejected from any of their partner firms, I can't be placed there for the summer so they told me to withdraw my applications from their partner firms..
Urgent: Withdraw and Reapply? (Originally Posted: 12/01/2015)
I just got an email from OCR saying that I should also submit an application thru company website. I just realized that I submitted it awhile ago and the resume and cover letter are 2-months old. Do you think I should just withdraw this application and reapply again with brand new resume? The deadline is tonight. Would HR still look at my old app?
They should look at the most recent version of everything you submit, but there's no guarantee that they haven't already looked at your old files. If you can find someone at HR to contact, I would mention this to them and just check in to make sure that they've got your updated files, after you submit them online.
