hello, I wanted to ask about undergraduate studies
I am currently a senior and I am in a dilemma. Making a college list turned out to be harder than it seemed. I have a great sat score and gpa 4.00 . I really want to study business , finance , accounting and such similar subjects. I want to know which colleges are the best? If I want to join any of the big universities ( harvard, stanford, yale, princeton, columbia, etc.) What can I study there to aid me to job that is somehow business related ( banking, being an accountant and etc.) Because I know that such colleges do not offer business fpt undergraduate courses.
Please guys I really need help.
Hi Ahmed,
I think I speak on behalf of the rest of the community when I say welcome to WallStreetOasis! Your question is a great one and something that a lot of top students like yourself have to deal with. In general the consensus here on WSO is that majors like Gender Studies or various Ethnic Studies are really the best bang-for-your buck, especially at elite Ivy League and private universities. As you can see in a myriad of articles from respectable sources publications BusinessInsider, UpWorthy, BuzzFeed, and ThinkProgress, the future business leaders of tomorrow will have a keen understanding of race, gender, and orientation issues in the workplace. Being open minded is one of the key hiring criteria in today's entry-level job interviews and a key reason for fast promotions in this business environment. You really can't go wrong with Gender Studies or Ethnic Studies, best of luck!
hahahaha almost spilled all over myself reading this one.
OP, here's a short list of advice
give people time to respond to your thread, you posted at 1544 EST and replied at 1547 EST saying you needed help, c'mon man
any Ivy League will be fine, and by the way all of them teach econ. I'd just make sure you have some math background, basic understanding of econ, and participate in OCR. you're talking about attending the top universities in the country, you shouldn't worry so much
change your username from your real name and change your avatar to something hilarious
if you really really really want to study business in college, look at Wharton
