Help choosing between multiple undergraduate business schools
Hello, my name is Mike and I currently trying to choose my school to pursue my undergraduate studies. I have applied to multiple business schools as a Finance major and have been accepted into all of them; however, this has put me in a tough situation with having to choose between several schools. Additionally, at some of the schools, I have been placed into honors programs. I really just would like some advise on what programs will put me in the best situation after school to land a solid job. I have listed my choices below. Thank you so much for any advice!
Northeastern honors program in D'Amore-Mckim school of business $31,000
Binghamton PwC scholars program in the School of Managment $20,000
UNC at chapel hill (admittance to business school occurs sophomore year) $50,000
Global Business Honors Program at Fordham Gabelli School of Business (Rose Hill Campus) $17,000
Carroll School of Management -Boston College $62,000
What is your financial situation?
My parents told me they can afford 100k between me and my twin sister, but I only want to attend a more expensive school if the ROI would be high. I am just unsure what school is worth the cost and whether honors program at less expensive schools make it a smarter investment.
UNC
I assume these are the costs per year including housing?
yes these are total costs
UNC hands down. Take whatever debt you need to and don't look back.
If you can get admittance into the undergraduate business school, go to UNC.
Don't be afraid to take out student loans. If you do well in school, you'll make enough to pay off the loans, pay your parents back, and even pay for your sister. (It's hyperbole, but you'll have a great roi)
So...I'm biased as I went undergrad to BU and B-School to UNC.
BC Sucks. So does Northeastern. Once upon a time BU was in the same Basketball conference as Binghamton...I'd take the BC kids over them.
UNC over Fordham...6 days a week and twice on Sunday. Enjoy Chapel Hill -- it's a great place to learn (plus...Carolina girls really are the best in the world...) Don't worry about the money...you're going to be in piles high of debt anyway.
The other thing to think about isn't the honors program. Think about the alumni network. It's been years since I was at Kenan-Flagler and yet I'm still decked out in my light blue argyle bowtie and old well cufflinks today (BEAT DUKE).
I'd say Northeastern and BC are definitely out. My personal pick would be UNC, but could see an argument for Binghampton (even though I know people on WSO will not be a fan of the idea).
UNC. Worked on a client who was located in the research triangle and we would occasionally eat in downtown Chapel Hill. You could tell the kids were having a blast. Great college town and a good bschool.
I'm sorry, you don't seem to even know what you need for a "solid job". You may risk getting nothing out of huge costs without knowing your focus
