Help- MS Bank Resource Management?
Alright, so Morgan Stanley is coming to my school (non-target) to interview for a SA position as in Bank Resource Management.
The description on the site under the position says...
"The ten-week Bank Resource Management (BRM) Summer Analyst Program provides an opportunity to experience the culture and atmosphere of Morgan Stanley while learning about one of the fastest growing areas of the business. You will obtain hands-on experience as we facilitate borrows and loans to our hedge fund clients. Summer Analysts joining Bank Resource Management will participate in a ten-week program alongside Sales & Trading Summer Analysts."
"Responsibilities will vary depending on your rotation through our various desks:
Domestic and International Equity Trading: Borrow securities from the world's largest lending institutions and assist in lending functions to our hedge fund clients.
Fixed Income: Learn how Morgan Stanley uses Repo products to finance the firm.
Sales and Marketing: Evaluate client portfolios and perform analysis on business opportunities.
Risk Management: Assist in determining exposure to our various counterparties."
Can anyone help me better understand the responsibilities of this position and maybe how well of a SA position it is?
Thanks

Fixed Income is in Sales & Trading, that's front office. No clue about Sales and Marketing, and Risk Management is middle office(?). It's rotational, so you won't get as much in-depth exposure to any single one of the things you rotate through.

From what I hear, its just a distinction created within Morgan Stanley's Sales & Trading divisions to determine the credit exposure and cash within the firm. The pay, at least within the fixed income groups, is also up to par with other Sales & Trading groups.
