How did you do when you first started Trading??

I just wanted to ask some people how they did when they first started trading, and how they are doing now?

If you did bad at the beginning what do you attribute to changing the experience? What was the biggest learning experience for you?

I started trading(I'd like to consider it investing) about a year and a half ago, and I have certainly had my ups and downs, but have ultimately been positive(up 20% first year, up 5% now). I definitely made some really dumb mistakes such as simply buying stocks when they had a really shitty day, but I certainly learned from those mistakes and don't do that anymore. But after reading Securities Analysis, I have definitely taken a more fundamental approach to investing that I feel will influence my investing strategy for the rest of my life.I also read Seth Klarman's Margin of Safety, which outlines the value investing approach. This book not only taught me about value investing in general, but it taught me that value is not the only thing you should be looking for, but you should also look for catalysts that will encourage stock price appreciation. Overall, I feel that trading my own money has definitely helped me mature as an investor and would definitely recommend it, even if you do end up losing money.
