Include external consultancy on resume?
First post here in a long time/ever - curious to see other people's opinions.
Should I include non-employer consultancy/freelance work on my resume when applying for banking roles?
The background to this is some modeling work I've been engaged on by former clients. I kept in touch with an FD of a firm my employer worked with - he has since reached out to me directly on ad-hoc modeling projects. Think accretion/dilution, 3-statement operating models etc. Most recently, he has referred me to other, more detailed projects - rollup-style PE plays etc.
As someone seeking experienced analyst-level lateral opportunities, I think this is something I should highlight. Do others agree/disagree? Would love to hear some input.
Independent Consultant - how to put on resume? (Originally Posted: 04/23/2013)
Hi there,
I've been working as an independent consultant for the last year. In this time, I've had a number of clients that are geographically varied. My question is: on my resume, shall I list these clients? There are about 4, and one or two are names worth mentioning - one being a startup that's been in the news recently, and the other being a a large international organization akin to the UN. How does one put this on a resume? Bearing in mind that space is limited.
Thanks!
Also worth noting that these projects were all between 2-7 months, often overlapping.
