Internal or lateral move from London to Asia

Hi everyone, really hope someone can give advice on opportunities moving from London to Asia either generally as a lateral hire or internally in Citi.

I have an offer to join a Citi CM/IBD group in London in the summer. One major aspect of whether I take this job over another is whether I will have the opportunity to work in Asia relatively soon in my career.

I know I am severely up against it as I have no language skills beyond English.

How easy do you think it would be to move within the firm after 2/3 years (perhaps just as a rotation initially). If impossible, how easy would it be to move to another bank, and into Asia, at this point in my career? Of course would have to assume I was doing well in London, near the top of rankings etc.

I'd very happily move to (in order of preference) Hong Kong, Tokyo or Singapore.

Do you know of specific groups (esp. in IBD) that my lack of languages would be less of an issue (I assume S&T would be best but beyond this? ie. Citi industry groups that hire non Mand/Cant speakers).

Again, I know my language skills are a mojor disadvantage, so any realistic advice (Citi specific or market-wide) would be very useful. I'm aware also that there are many (perhaps) more important issues to consider, which I am doing, but this area is a total unknown to me.

Apologies for the slightly unstructured questions.

Thank you in advance
