Interviews are pretty standard in my experience. In first rounds, they like to focus primarily on fit and culture. They will typically ask you to run through your resume, why banking and why Lincoln. Make sure you know your story and can tell it efficiently and effectively. They will also ask you basic technicals, but nothing to stress about. Think questions along the lines of "if a company incurs $10 (pretax) of depreciation expense, how does that affect the three financial statements?"
From what I've heard it's a pretty standard. No real wild card or tricky technicals. Know your story and why Lincoln.
Thanks for your input!!

Does anyone have experience interviewing with Lincoln International or working over there. Please share with me. I truly appreciate this.
Hey, I heard that for the first round, it is not too technical. How was yours?

I have a phone interview with an analyst in the next few days over the phone. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the interviewing process with Lincoln International.
Also, does anyone know about the culture in NY? I read a lot about the great culture in Chicago. Anything to keep in mind?
This is for FT IB position
Thanks in advanced
People seemed nice. Be socialable and be big on why lincoln. Technicals were straight forward.
PM me.
Anyone else has any insight? Would be very much appreciated.
Bump to this as I've heard the NYC office is relatively new.
Thanks.
I interviewed there last year. Great people and great culture. Interview questions were pretty typical. Like always, make sure you can tell your story in an efficient and coherent manner. They consistently place guys in MM PE. One of the guys I interviewed with and have kept in touch with is now in an upper tier MM PE firm.
Lincoln International - First round interviews? (Originally Posted: 02/01/2014)
Hey Guys,
Does anyone know any info on lincoln's first round interviews? I managed to secure a first round phone interview, and would greatly appreciate some insight. I have read that it is mostly fit, but can someone elaborate? Thanks!

first round was mostly fit. big on why lincoln. superday was the same way.
As kidflash has mentioned, know why Lincoln, why banking and what makes you stand out among other candidates. Both 1st and 2nd rounds for me were technical - know how the three fin. stmts are linked, know the valuation techniques, I also had some brain teasers, I was also asked how sell side advisory works. So, you should be ready for both behavioral and technical questions.
Convince them you want to have a career at Lincoln, from my networking, they want to try to recruit career bankers. And for "why Lincoln", have plenty of reasons, the international appeal alone will not separate you from the other candidates because everyone says that.
