Interview Process at Goldman

I have my first round interview at Goldman Sachs next week. Does anyone know, if I advance, about how much time would pass between then and the next round (I guess the Super day)? Someone told me the next interview would be within a few days; I was assuming it would be in January or February. I want to make sure I will be available for the interview. Thanks.

Good question. I'd like to know also.

I was under the impression that they let you know if you passed the first round within a couple days, but the superday is usually later on. I could be wrong. Can anybody clarify?

Here is the list of key dates listed on GS.com

November to January * Goldman Sachs information sessions * Specialized Goldman Sachs events * Participation in school organized events such as conferences and career fairs * Some events are restricted to sophomores and juniors, but most are open to all undergraduates

January to February * Application deadlines. Refer to your school's application submission deadline * Candidate interviews * Informational events specifically for summer intern candidates

February to March * Offers are extended to candidates * Skill building workshops and target events for underclassmen

May to June * summer internship start dates, depending on divisional program

Can anyone shed more light on this process? Also, I have some in mind, but what are some good questions to ask the interviewer in round 1?

It's on Thursday, I'll let you know.

I got an answer from the HR representative about that; she said super day will be next semester. Let's hope I get an invite!

I really cannot believe this. I woke up this morning, my interview being at 2:30, feeling sick as a dog. Fever, aches, congestion, and a wicked sore throat; feels like I'm choking and my voice is just a whisper. I had to reschedule my interview. The HR rep said they would do their best to reschedule this 1st rounder in person, or by phone. I hope I haven't ruined my chances. If it wasn't for losing my voice, I would have gone. But I feel like pure sh*t. No way I would have made a good impression even by thoughing it out. I probably would have gotten everyone sick, I'm very oozy.

YES!!! I just set up a phone interview for Monday, no problem. The HR rep was very understanding and empathetic. Any tips for how to conduct a phone interview?

Show your enthusiasm across the phone, think out loud (for problems) so you avoid awkward silence...phone tends to be easier (but thats just personal)

I think it went really well. I think they really liked the questions I asked them. They referred back to the answers I gave with praise.

They sent an email to the candidates on Wednesday saying they were in the process of making their final decisions. They asked us to be patient. I was hoping to know by today, but hopefully we'll know before Christmas.

Haven't heard back yet, don't know if it's because of the holidays. I am currently a junior so by the summer I'll be a senior. Would it be possible to apply next year for an internship for summer 2010 if I am graduating in May 2010?
