30 hours a week?
What the hell?
I have a really good team! I play to their strengths.
But, as soon as they bring mckinsey in here and find out how little i do, my job is gone lol!
Don't be sad about the stay at home mom. To each his own, but I think that's a pretty sweet deal.
And as for your goals, you could do a few years at PwC advisory and exit back into F500 in a more senior role. With all things being equal, consulting adds a few years of experience, even if its not MBB.
I would hardly call 60 hrs/week a labor camp. Did you think MBB would have been less hours? I cant tell if youre concerned about the money, hours, or prestige.
My main concern is pwc's prestige, or lack thereof. What are the exit opportunities from their advisory arm?
Just curious, how do you make 115k/yr as a FP&A manager and have an MBA when you are 27? That means you started your MBA at 25 which means you worked for about 3 years (assuming graduating at 22) before going back to school and already reached 115k a year. Am I missing something or just dumb? :)
You're not dumb. most ppl go full time i did a part-time but still finished in two years. I started working at 22, got promoted 4 times in 5 years, worked while i completed my MBA at a top 10. i wont have an MBA for another 3 months, i would start with PWC one year from now. let me know what your thoughts
Dude if you're moving up that quickly in corporate don't bother making the switch unless you think your upwards ops in your current company have peaked. Do make the kind of money you want, you'd have to be a Director. Do you think you can make director in 6-8 years? Given you're current trajectory...I'd say yes you can. Directors usually pull in upper 100s to mid 200 from what I hear with 20-30% bonus.
Can you PM me about your experience? I'd be interested to hear how you moved up so quickly, etc. I'm a current FLDP nearing the end of my program. Thanks!
