there are compelling reasons for both. it depends on whether or not the 2 sessions overlap, or are sequential..

in general the first start date is wharton(penn) yale all the semester based schools...judging by your name, you probably want to be with your classmates in the first start date

the later start date has a lot of harvard, stanford, and princeton and the trimester schools

 

I think everyone knowws the BB because as far as I know there is only one that has two sessions. It's really done by your school schedule. Very few schools (if any) can actually do both sessions.
