JPMorgan FT08 NYC

Is there anyone else out there in my boat? I got the offer this fall, and signed. I have not been placed into any group left. Does anyone have any information about when I will get placed, the process, and other advice.

Thanks so much!

JPM HR is swamped with the Bear Stearns merger. On bloomberg they annouced the names of senior bear managemetn joining JPM. Be patient. Once the senior mangement is in place, they can decide on how to staff the junior levels. Put yourself in their shoes, does it really matter if you know now or a week before you start what group you will be in? Half of the class goes through training first, and even if they're not placed by then, it doesn't really affect the company. The job market is not hot enough that you can say "if i don't get my group placement NOW i'm jumping ship, theyre are plenty of BSC offers that will take your place".

Relax, enjoy school and worry about work when you start work.

Rumor is that the SLF group is going to be dissolved. Analysts and Associates will move over to IB coverage and probably only capital markets desk/distribution functions will remain.

This is quite surprising. What you said seems to suggest that they are exiting (or at least scaling it down drastically) the leveraged finance business. This seems unlikely. Jamie Dimon himself said a couple of days ago that leveraged finance is open for business. I also can't imagine JPMorgan giving up its leading leveraged finance franchise because of the current downturn.

Why exactly do people on here feel compelled to post these retarded 'i heard a rumor' posts. Where exactly did you hear this rumor? In Freshman Seminar at Carson City Polytech?

"Cuz I read the New Republic, and you know it said? It said you dont know what the FUCK you're talking about."
