KPMG promised me phone interview, never got one..
What's going on fellas,
My friend who got full-time offer at KPMG Audit talked to his recruiter and had me email her my resume and tell her my interest in advisory at kpmg
Recruiter never responded, however, weeks later another recruiter told me she's going to set me up with a 1/2 hour phone interview and asked for availability
gave her my availability - no response or confirmation no phone call
followed up again and she asked for availability one more time. again, gave her my availability - no response or confirmation no phone call
followed up saying i never got the phone call again.. no response whatsoever
Initial email was almost a month ago... whats going on.. what do I do? Is it too late since it's already been a month?
Facts:
Junior at Non-target school
did not apply for the position online or in any way at all
they don't recruit at my school for advisory
networked to get the interview
What practice and office location is this? It's not unheard of for them to take ages to get back to you, unfortunately.

I considered KPMG advisory, and they are flaky in HR. I don't think it's personal, and depending on the group there are definitely ebbs and flows in hiring.
I don't think it's unreasonable to follow up with a call or voicemail, or a final message, although I wouldn't count on it if they don't respond back. But recruiters/HR folks in the Big 4 are sometimes discombobulated (a clusterfuck) so don't get discouraged.
thanks I left her a voicemail and an email. hopefully I get a response.
Recruiters are not your friend. Those who can do. Those who can't ... recruit. You have to stay on top of these people and make them work for you. Sad but true. You'll learn the same thing the first time you buy a home and deal with realtors.
I had a similar experience with KPMG. I think their HR department is just disorganized. Also when i went for an office visit I again got the impression they are disorganized, especially more so than their Big 4 competitors. Honestly as a junior I would look into finance internships rather than accounting. I know Wells Fargo has a great summer internship program and they tend to care more about the individual than the school you attend. Just start contacting recruiters and stay on top of it and good things will come your way.
