Love to be in finance but which part of finance?

I am applying to MS applied finance and I am required to provide short term goal and long term goal. I do not want to sound like a lost sheep by writing "I wish to go into finance industry" but I am not familiar with jobs in finance.

As a background, I have passed my CFA L3(I know it very minor). I am more towards the analytic side and communication is not my strong point (I know it is very important in finance). Can anyone please suggest me what should I put as my short term and long term goal? Which part of finance am I more suited for after this MS applied finance course?

You need to improve your writing and communication skills before anything, or else it will be hard getting a job

Why do you want to do finance if you have no idea about the job opportunities or typical career paths?

You need to rethink why you want to do finance and if it's even for you..currently your on the path to disappointment

I am a finance major but I went into education industry after I graduated (which I think is a mistake).

At 28 now, I believe this is the last chance I can get into finance industry. That why I wish to take a MS finance to improve my chance of smooth transition. Even if I fail in the finance industry, I will not regret it as it is my choice and I have had fulfilled my dream.

In my undergrad days, I only heard of jobs such as fund manager and research analyst. What should I write? Short term goal-to be an associate in fund management, long term goal-to be a fund management? I think the adcom will find me naive.

Thanks Revolution, but I will want to go into it to experience it. I do not want to regret not able to join the finance industry on my death-bed in the future.

I have decided my ST is to become a research analyst and my LT is to become a top research analyst in Singapore. Sound dumb?
