Marcus and Millichap Interview Thursday
Hey guys,
I have an interview Thursday with Marcus & Millichap here in Denver. It's with the Commercial Real Estate Investment division and I wanted to know if anyone has a good idea what this job is all about? Is it a ton of cold calling? Will I learn how to use different analytical tools? What's the starting salary and incremental raises? What's the company culture like? Really, any insight would be really helpful.
I also should be hearing back from a small boutique commercial real estate firm at the end of the week and I'm hoping to get the offer there because I'd be working directly with upper level management.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

It is a brokerage job. You will be put through a great training program, but after that you are basically on your own there.

Brokerage isn't a bad way to break into the industry. Gives a great training platform and opportunity to network within the industry. You will not make much money, though, as most brokers only start to make real dough after 3-4 years. You will get pigeon-holed after 5 or so years as a broker, so be wary of that as well.
Agree with the 20% number, they hire 10 with the expectation of finding and keeping 2 rockstars.
