McKinsey application

Hii..

I was wondering if anybody has any experience applying to McKinsey, as an APD(Advanced professional degree i.e. PhD) candidate. The application website says that you can upload transcripts but are not needed.

Do transcripts help candidates during the selection process?

Thanks

Paul

Good luck, I remember reading that they received 225,000 applications during 2013, picked up 2,200 and if industry trends are still valid the vast majority of those were recruited straight out of target schools or are lateral moves from other top firms.

Two things: 1. There are target schools for APD/ADC recruiting. McK and BCG run pretty extensive recruiting programs for JDs, MDs, and PhDs. 2. Lateral hires between MBBs is about the least common pathway I can think of.

How does my statement imply attending an advanced degree program at a target school preclude the OP from target school recruiting? As far as lateral, sure, but anything with less than a 1% selection rate would probably qualify under uncommon.
