Mid-Market M&A
Hello everyone,
does anyone have experience at RBC "mid-market" M&A or Big4 Corp finance M&A
Curious about exit opps and if this closes any doors on working at boutique investment banks in the future.
Thank.

I just accepted an offer at a Big 4 in Corp Fin. Exit ops are decent, but obviously not as good as at BB. I am hoping to transition to a BB for FT, which I think is possible, but no easy.
Heard PwC revamped the team and is doing pretty well, but rest.. meh. RBC definitely sounds like a better bet (Just looking at the mergermerket and they were doing pretty good this year)
What's your take on DCF?
I've heard the same for big four (especially for PwC and KPMG)
Though for (Mid-market) M&A, would it be looked at poorly since they have a capital markets division as well ?

Well, I was going through the group placement package and found this group called Mid-Market M&A. What are your opinions on this group? Do you think the learning experience, exit opportunities will be similar to regular M&A? It seems like it's pretty similar to regular M&A Group except deal size (It ranges from 100mm to 1bn)
Please tell me what you think of this kind of group at BB.

Can you elaborate on that? I thought working on many smaller deals would give you the better learning experience than working on one mega deal since you get to see many different structures.
Also, which experience is better, sell-side M&A or buy-side M&A?
Thanks
Because it's not what we do. It may be what pays the bills at Houlihan or Jefferies, but at a bulge bracket bank we don't give a shit about it. Middle Market is where you dump people who don't make the cut for investment banking.
If you want to do MM, go someplace that cares about it and puts good people on it. MM at a BB bank is Siberia.
where is this group... NYC?
Middle market M&A Industry Overview? (Originally Posted: 11/14/2011)
I have an interview at a middle market M&A firm in about two weeks, and seeing as how I have been studying for bulge bracket interviews, I dont know much about the state middle market (multiples, forecasts, etc). I know firms put out newsletters and such, but does anyone know of any good, up to date sources of information for the state of middle market M&A?
Any particular sector? The middle market is a huge place.

"Mid-Market/Commercial" Mergers and Acquisitions (Originally Posted: 10/19/2016)
Hello everyone,
Recently I've been interviewing at a few firm, none of which are BB though Big four M&A and Mid-Market (not MM Capital markets, though Mid-Market on the Commercial Banking Side) Mergers & Acquisitions.
If yes, general culture, exit ops, salary and bonus would be helpful.
Thanks,
