Morgan Stanley said to freeze Investment banking hiring for the rest of 2010. Is this going to be a trend among other big banks? Has the current economic economy forced recruiting to a halt? Anyone with an idea of how the recruiting landscape is changing, please elaborate.

Is there some sort of hiring freeze going on? Some of friends interviewed with them, nobody got calls
I'm not sure about MS IBD specifically, but I do know that lots of firms are having interviews without any plans of hiring, in order to keep the reputation up on campus.
I've heard about this happening with various groups at various firms.
heard similar things - more specifically, the entering ibd analyst class of 08 is close to full, if not full already, at ms, ml, jpm, citi, db, and lehman (as usual). anyone care to confirm?
