MS in Finance: Wash U Olin, U Rochester Simon, or MIT Sloan?
Hello everyone,
I am currently in a unresolved situation and desperately seeking for advice from people with better understanding about these programs than I do.
I want to work in either capital market research, or Asset Management, and have applied to Master in Finance programs at Olin, Simon, and Sloan. My GPA is 3.99/4.00 and GMAT is 740. I haven't had any full-time work experience but a 2-year part-time in various positions; my resume appears strong, according to professors and mentors and also people working in the finance industry I have talked with before.
Here is the situation:
- Olin accepted me but provided no financial aid whatsoever to anyone (given that their Corp finance and investment track only has 28 people last year and the acceptance rate is 6%, I wonder why?)
- Simon accepted me, gave me its highest amount of scholarship possible (20% of tuition), and also invited me to their scholarship weekend, so more chance to increase my scholarship amount.
- Sloan invited me to Cambridge for a 30-min interview last week.
I guess my top-choice is MIT, but I won't know the result until March 10 this year, which is AFTER the deadlines for both Olin and Simon. I need a back-up plan and am struggling to decide which program, Olin (requiring $700 deposit by Feb 25), or Simon ($1,500 deposit by Mar 3) I should accept, in case MIT doesn't come through?
Any, any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you very much!
Deposit at Olin, reneg if you get MIT. Best and most simple answer.
