Need Advice for FT AM Recruiting

Hi guys, new to the site and first post here, so forgive me if I have left anything important out.

So I need some solid advice regarding FT recruiting for AM. A little background, I am a senior from a semi-target in the WC, >3.5 GPA, with prior transaction services banking & Big 4 internship experience, and (i believe) some of the necessary requirements for an AM analyst role on paper - i.e. skills/interests/passion/investment classes etc. This is also because job requirements for AM never state required/desired prior work experience, only educational background (which I check off). My issue is I am planning on recruiting for AM FT, but have no prior AM/IM internship experience. I also have the option to extend graduation to recruit as a junior if need be.

Right now, I have a pretty solid network connection with a BB for AM, but only for an internship position. This would basically require me to extend graduation and recruit as a junior. My question is, given my lack of prior AM experience, would it actually be possible for me to recruit for a FT position? What are the general prior work experiences that AMs look for?

There has generally been a lot of coverage for IB, and its basically near impossible (yes I know its doable to a certain extent) to get a FT IB without prior IB Internships. So I was wondering if this same "rule of thumb" applies to AM.

Really appreciate any input from anyone!
