No Fall Recruiting

Friend just said that no bank is hiring for trading, and that most banks wont do fall recruiting. Any truth to this?

Citi and Lehman are

Citi and Lehman are recruiting at my Ivy for trading. Citi and Credit Suisse are recruiting for IB. There aren't any other bulge brackets posting for trading or IB (yet).

Correction: the Lehman post

Correction: the Lehman post was for Technology.

So the WSO favorites that are recruiting at my Ivy so far are:

Citi - IB, Trading
Credit Suisse - IB, Asset Management
BlackRock - Asset Management
DE Shaw - Quant

I've seen LOTS of FT job

I've seen LOTS of FT job postings on my school's website. Whether or not there is any intention to hire, though, is a different matter.

That said, to say that NO bank is hiring for TRADING (considering "trading" encompasses equities, fixed income, currencies and commodities, and all of their derivatives -- a pretty broad range) is completely ridiculous.

Here is what we got ...

Citi- analyst (position not specified), CS-analyst (position not specified), GS-operations, RBS – S&T, MS- Technology, JPM-(position not specified), UBS-IB, DB-(position not specified), BMO-IB, RBC-IB. Add boutiques such as Evercore, Rothschild, Greenhill…Overall, it seems to be a very tough recruiting season on a campus.

We have hundreds of postings

We have hundreds of postings for all kinds of financial jobs -- but above I listed the only ones that you'll see discussed frequently on this site.

brisbane, are you seeing BB postings for front-office roles? Which firms/positions?

Keep in mind...firms may

Keep in mind...firms may hold interview days merely to keep there name on campus and keep positive relationships with target schools, with 0 intention to actually hire.

It doesn't look good for the Firm if competitors are on campus, and they aren't.
