PIMCO or other REPE excel test
Guys,
Saw someone asking about PIMCO's position recently. I got an excel assessment test from PIMCO HR which seems weird to me because it's just one hour and HR asked me to return the assessment to her when I'm done. I asked what kind of the assessment would be - math or RE modelling but she ignored me. I guess it's a quick excel formula test but I would like to get more info about it. Did anyone take this "assessment" before? What should I expect here? Does it include VBA?
I appreciate any information here.
Analyst 3+ in RE - Comm, bummer your thread hasn't had a response yet. Maybe one of these threads could point you in the right direction:

If it's only an hour I'd assume it's either extremely basic excel capabilities (can you write the basic formulas to accomplish a task related to basic financial concepts) or modeling a property's cash flow with assumptions already built out.
The chances of VBA being involved are slim to none. Never heard of a CRE firm testing VBA. I've written maybe 5 lines of unique code in my career and it wasn't a requirement for the task.
I have taken a number of excel modeling tests and not one had anything regarding VBA.
VBA is often a skill set people acquire later on to just make their own day to day easier and swing their dick to their manager how amazing they are at excel when in reality no one cares if you know it or not (unless you’re in pure data analytics with a F500).
Yeah the only time I've ever written any VBA was to make my life easier/getting rid of random tedious shit
It will be a modeling test in excel, no vba, but definitely need to know how to setup assumptions, create a CF and waterfall.
How was this? I have a similar one coming up. Also if you made it in the process hwo did it go? Strange they are still recruiting for this.
They might of been busy?

has anyone heard back regarding this process?
Can you follow up on this? What was on the test? Can PM
Can you PM me on this?
Bump… do you have any info after taking test?
Please PM if anyone has experience with this, I have one coming up for an REPE off-cycle internship in London
Bump. Any insights on the PIMCO modelling test? Thanks
They hiring ?

Can any one elaborate on what type of prompts to expect for the test?
I had the case study two years ago for an analyst role (London office). Quite easy, nothing to worry about
Thanks. Could you elaborate on what your case study format and prompts?
For example, was it an office asset? Cash flowing asset or development? Waterfall or no, etc?
Any help is appreciated.
I have the nyc one if anyone wants it. Two years old at this point though.
Would love to know who they use for recruiter or how you got in touch w them if you don’t mind sharing
