PIMCO or other REPE excel test

Guys,

Saw someone asking about PIMCO's position recently. I got an excel assessment test from PIMCO HR which seems weird to me because it's just one hour and HR asked me to return the assessment to her when I'm done. I asked what kind of the assessment would be - math or RE modelling but she ignored me. I guess it's a quick excel formula test but I would like to get more info about it. Did anyone take this "assessment" before? What should I expect here? Does it include VBA?

I appreciate any information here.

If it's only an hour I'd assume it's either extremely basic excel capabilities (can you write the basic formulas to accomplish a task related to basic financial concepts) or modeling a property's cash flow with assumptions already built out.

The chances of VBA being involved are slim to none. Never heard of a CRE firm testing VBA. I've written maybe 5 lines of unique code in my career and it wasn't a requirement for the task.

I have taken a number of excel modeling tests and not one had anything regarding VBA.

VBA is often a skill set people acquire later on to just make their own day to day easier and swing their dick to their manager how amazing they are at excel when in reality no one cares if you know it or not (unless you’re in pure data analytics with a F500).
