Private Equity - Equity Placement Firm

Hey guys,

Usual poster here but posting under this account to remain anonymous.

Currently have an opportunity to work within a small PE firm with Asset Management). This seems like a great opportunity to grow into a highly diversified role, work with institutional firms and upper management, and placing equity into deals.

The question I have is, does this experience translate into a role where I can learn all nuances of a transaction from soup to nuts, if I do decide to stick it out for the long run, and potentially venture off on my own after 10+ years?
