Project Management to VC?
How is the transition from project management at a startup or bluechip to VC, with or without MBA (although I assume it is required). I was looking at partner profiles and it seems that banking/consulting were most of the backgrounds in addition to entrepreneurs.
Also how to b-schools look at project managers wanting to get into VC?
Can you specify what kind of project management that would be?
Managing a technical project being worked on by engineers.
that's probably viewed the same as operational experience, in other words, just like any other tech experience. So yes if its at a startup then it would be useful, less so at a bluechip but still ok.
Any idea how business schools look at something like project management? My GPA is less then stellar (approx 3.1), so would going to a school like Berkley for my MBA make me competitive for VC?
