Prop trading intern before university
Hey guys, i am interested in investing. I want to work at a long/ahort or value hedge fund or even PE. This fall i will be studying finance in uk, undergraduate but right now i have the opportunity to intern for a local prop firm. Is that going to be a problem When applying for a hedge fund or PE firm where the skillset is different. I mean, this internship will happen before i even go to uni.
How can relevant work experience when you have none be "a problem"?
I mean that lets say i apply after 2 years for an equity research internship at a BB and the person reviewing my resume sees that i have interned at a prop firm before. Would he think of that internship as not good because of the different skillset. Again, i am talking about a possible future situations.
