PWM->Banking->VC

I have some questions about banking. I'm considering the industry because VC sounds like a potential career for me in the next ten years and I have heard that banking or consulting is the route prior to VC.

Quick background:
I work at a BB PWM firm in Los Angeles and have my Series 7 and am taking my Series 66 soon.

Questions:
-What is the recommended route to get into a banking analyst program/entry-level analyst position if I have only have PWM experience (two summer analyst positions and my current position, all at BBs)?

-How reliable is Investment Banking Institute or Training the Street? The reason I ask is because I have been recommended those courses by friends in S&T, IB, Consulting, and PWM. Will having financial valuation and modeling skills from this seminar translate well on a resume or will the fact that I have not had any banking experience limit me.

-Should I pursue the boutique route? I feel like it is much harder to get into BBs without SA experience...

-Lastly, am I at a disadvantage because I am no longer in school (Top 3 Public University Class of 2010 graduate)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
