Quasar Trading - Anybody ever heard of this place?
Hey all,
I was wondering if anybody here has heard of Quasar Trading. Their website is here: http://www.quasar-trading.com/
If you know anything about their reputation, training, philosophy, or comp (I assume its all performance based) I'd appreciate it.
Thx
Don't know it, but any decent place will pay you something, offer training (FNYS I hear gives 18 months) and should allow for draw, if they ask for risk capital, run.
Any place that doesn't offer at least a draw or a base is a sweatshop, and you should avoid them.
I recently found out about Quasar Trading and applied for a couple of their entry-level jobs online. I got a call and they were pretty much just asking me to fill out some info and email it all back, etc.
So update, does anybody else know something about them? Apparently they offer a training and mentorship program, which they called me about. There are a number of their jobs listed on www.daytraderjobs.com and jackstone gave their website in the primary post.
Some additional input would be awesome!
Thanks
I just started to look into this opportunity as well. It kinda sounds too good to be true. I emailed the company to find out more about it and will keep you guys posted, unless you already have information. If you do, I'd appreciate it if you can let me know.
Thanks.
Is there any update on this company?
I've seen the add for Quasar..and you are better off opening a small "real" futures account and just trading 1 contract.
you guys interested in the interest rates markets should check out "govttrader on twitter. There is tons of free info and market commentary there (also check out the blog there)
There is lots of educational content for free that you would normally get when sitting on a Rates desk.
Other than a bloomberg terminal, Twitter has become THE place for market news and the social trading community
And...if you don't already have a futures account somewhere..then at the least you should open an account at TD Ameritrade (its free)...and install their Mobile Trader app on your smartphone...the software is easy to use / understand..and best of all its free.
I wouldn't recommend actually using TD ThinkOrSwim to trade...their commissions are way too high.
"deepdiscounttrading" is much better for actual trading (they are the cheapest i've seen for retail...even cheaper then interactive brokers)
You are THE go to bond man on twitter.
How did you guys ever make out with this place? Any update?
Curious, has Quasar worked out well for anyone?
I just found out about them via a friend. The job they have posted on their school's site mentions this:
"Option A - (Standard Option) 80% payout including mentoring and education. This option requires a capital risk contribution by the member of $15,000.00
Option B - (Professional Option) 90% payout including mentoring and education. This option requires a capital risk contribution by the member of $25,000
All options require a $600.00 registration/background check fee to be provided by the member. This includes your FINRA registration fees and your Series 7 exam registration fee."
So they don't invest in you at all...which is a bit shady and shitty.
That sounds stupid as hell. Why not just trade from home? Their mentoring and education probably consists of a booklet and the guy sitting next to you that's been there for 3 months longer than you have.
I was interviewed by this company and offered the position as well. the manager, seems like a nice guy, said the following, you can give the 15000 in order to register with the company and the exam. He said that there will be training provided (prerecorded video from the manager). He said you have to stick with the company for a year, then if you decide to leave the 15000 dollars will be returned to you. I currently do not have that much money I asked, can I pay partially. He replied yes. Is this reliable, what should I do with this?
I got interviewed by Quasar, it was easy and not many questions were asked. Now I am offered by "Option A - (Standard Option) 80% payout including mentoring and education. This option requires a capital risk contribution by the member of $15,000.00
Option B - (Professional Option) 90% payout including mentoring and education. This option requires a capital risk contribution by the member of $25,000
The manager require me give 15000 for registration with the company and the exam. He said you have to work with the company for a year, then if you decide to quit after a year, the money will be returned. Is this reliable?
