Both I suppose, but I'm mainly trying to see what else besides IB is out there (people are always quick to jump on anyone that has IB in sight too early). That being said, I'm interested in any info.

Generally speaking, there are a ton of different career paths for someone who studied real estate. And the details that you're looking for will vary depending on what it is that you do. Off the top of my head I can already think of different functions/scenarios within real estate: development, investment, finance, brokerage, asset management, etc. that one could pursue. If you have a degree in real estate, you should probably know this already. You may have to narrow down your preferences if you don't want answers all over the board.

If you're talking about current opportunities, that would be different, but it would be better to put it in a perspective where we know what you like or would want to do with your career.

Does anybody know what kind of stuff you'd do at a firm like CB Richard Ellis? What's the pay like? What are the opportunities like to move up within the company? What are the exit opps like?

CBRE's bread and butter is its brokerage business, either representing buyers/sellers or tenants/owners regarding leasing. Not sure about pay or upward mobility, but I think it's heavily commissions based and would imagine that there's a set structure in terms of promotions. I've seen brokers leave and either start their own practices or go over on the acquisitions side.
