Resume: Equity Research

Things I know:

1. Went to a non-target school.
2. Have a low GPA (f*** me, right).
3. Have no internship experience (trained for hockey during summers).

My school is a 4-year private (liberal arts) college that is very well-known in MN, so alumni are definitely around. Other than the things listed above (that I cannot fix) what advice do you have for both the resume and landing a job in ER this summer? I have a feeling it will need to be a "side door" entry at a small boutique (through networking), but I would love to hear from you guys.

Concordia is not "well-known" in the MN market, particularly MPLS.

I would make sure your resume is in chronological order (i.e. flip the Activities section). Plus, that gives you the most relevant experience at the top of the section.

It will be very difficult, but try and leverage your alumni network. MPLS isn't the best spot for ER, but there are jobs here and there I see pop up.

Rephrase that "Provided..." bullet point. It sounds like YOU provided all that shit...to yourself.

Anyway, I would probably interview you just because of hockey alone. So maybe you can find someone else who used to play and would want to give you a shot based on having a similar interest/background.

Your investment fund experience should go first given date range like the poster above said.

Good luck.

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

Extremely bullish on Heidi Klum, currently.
