Resume Review - Undergrad

Hi there,

Just started studying in New York and already excited to dive into this challenging and competitive market. After taking my time to change the CV format, I wanted to get your honest feedback. There are more points I could add in the CV like "Head Delegate and Initiator for NMUN in New York, Currently working for a small LMS and LPs company in New York, ...". As I am only 21 years old, I just wanted to show all the work experience I have.

Looking forward to get a feedback, would be very good to know what you think is more important and relevant on my CV.

First off, this is a well structured resume. If I were to recommend changes, it would be to remove the blurb at the top. Anyone who reads your resume should be able to conclude what you've summarized there on their own, not to mention it's cliche to put things like "motivated, attention to detail, leadership, and communication" skills on your resume.

Second of all, 6 out of your 7 listed jobs are either "Client Adviser, Junior Adviser, or Junior Client Adviser. It's not really clear whether you got promotions, or got transferred since the job descriptions are not similar.

  1. Get rid of the "summary" section. Whomever is telling kids these days to have one needs to be taken out behind the shed and shot.

  2. Keep your formatting consistent. In your education section, the dates on your banking certificate in finance are on the second line, not the first like the other two.

  3. Holy shit you have a lot of experience. Good job.

  4. I'd stick to all black font.

I would personally do it a bit differently, but here are some general things.

  1. Take out the blurb at the top.
  2. You should have at least 2 bullets under each item. If you can only write one bullet, then maybe that wasn't a good experience.
  3. Keep it all one color (black).

Thank you all for your feedback's. All advises have been implemented into this new version of my CV. The work experience might look impressive, but I still have to adapt myself to the demanding financial market in New York. The application process is more challenging here and takes more time. But this great platform gives me enough support and information to find my own way to get a interesting position.

I am open for more feedback's :) (new version can be found at the beginning of this topic)
