Risk Analyst in AM
Hi,
I come from a non target school in Canada where I completed a bachelor of commerce. Currently working in government at a financial regulatory agency. I am an analyst responsible for risk assessments (market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, interest risk) of financial institutions (credit unions, insurance companies, reciprocals, captives etc.) I am going to be pursuing the FRM designation, with the end goal of ultimately moving to an investment firm such as a pension fund or Asset Management firm in risk management. Would this be a stretch given my background coming from a non target school and not coming from the private sector?
Thanks for any input
Risk analyst postion at a no name 'AM' that claims to only work in currency? (Originally Posted: 11/23/2016)
I'm wary about this potential job, they're located in a pretty obscure place in the UK near Reading.
AUM is $56B and they exclusively deal with currency.
Someone put me forward for the role and I'm wary of the claims the company makes, I don't know if there would be exit ops to bigger companies. There isn't much info on the company and it seems new grads come and go all the time. The recruiter straight up told me "They're always looking for new bright grads, it's like a revolving door".
The pay is pretty low for the position too but that's not my issue, it's what I can do after a year or 2 there.
