Risk Management or Manager Research?
I currently work at a fund of funds and am finishing up my first year role. I am being encouraged to choose my next role in either manager research or risk management. I have no idea which one will be more beneficial for me in the long run. I enjoy the technical aspects of the risk management side and would undoubtedly take away some very hard analytical skills but I enjoy being closer to the actual investments on the research side. I am told that this is one of the few times I can change career trajectories.
Is one clearly more attractive than the other? Opinions?
