SAs with no offer?
What happens to summers who don't get FT offers? My group was particularly difficult, and had less than a 50% retention rate? So are we screwed for FT recruiting (IF there even is full time recruiting)? I have heard that banks don't even know how many analysts they need, and that some banks are on a rolling basis? Any advice? Thanks.
I am an SA with no offer. I was in the s&t division at a bulge bracket, however, which makes it even worse =/. would be interested in peoples' comments
banks will be recruiting.. mostly at the uber/tier 1 targets though..
good luck to everyone out there. you guys are looking for offers to start next summer. so you should be able to get through this recruiting cycle at another semi bb bank.
jus keep in mind that Citi rescinded 5 or so full time offers during nov/dec after the full time recruiting cycle was well underway.
i havent heard much news of layoffs happening but i believe banks will be recruiting full time one campus, but the recruiting budgets must be significantly reduced so they can't hit as many campuses as they'd like or host as many "receptions" as they used to.
and with my laid off analysts out there, who knows how much lateraling will be going in the coming years.
my group had an offer rate of 25%
i am needless to say in the same boat
how long after the end of the internship are you typically contacted by HR? Do they simply e-mail you whether you have an offer or not? Do they typically let rejects know after those given offers?
Generally, you'll know either way. Looks like some banks are doing the whole "two week after" thing. My bank gave out decisions the second to last day.
two weeks after? is that when they notify you of the offer verbally or send you actual paper to sign?

in my experience, they generally call. From some of the other threads, it looks like the MS kids are still waiting.
HR typically calls if they are doing the delayed offer thing. Papers are typically fedexed within 2 or 3 days of their call to you.
what does the delayed offer mean? is it a good/bad thing?
Delayed offer means exactly that- they're waiting to determine if they can offer you a FT position. Usually they've offered other SA's a spot and are waiting on there decisions, but other factors- market, etc- may come into play with a delayed offer.
