What exactly is Strategic Planning? I always thought it was the Corporate Strategy group within a company, but I've heard of instances where the Corporate Development team is part of Strategic Planning as well. Also, what does compensation look like for Analysts/Associates within Strategic Planning at large financial institutions? Also, what about exit opps and MBA admissions chances? Thanks in advance.

The name of the corporate
The name of the corporate strategy or development group varies from company to company; there is no set name for it. Some companies Strat Planning will be their corpdev/strat group. In others it might be an operations strategy group or what have you. I bumped 2 posts earlier, read them (will give you answer to exit ops).
As for MBA chances, that doesn't just have to do with the job you've held for the last few years. They take into account GMAT, undergrad GPA, ECs (like charity work), work experience, etc. We can't give you any idea on what your chances would be, honestly.
